| Here is a weekend that's sure to please your palate. Start on Friday with Scott Jones, the executive food editor and resident wine expert at Southern Living Magazine, as he pairs his favorite North Carolina wines with some great appetizer recipes from Southern Living. For the main course, hit the streets of Downtown Winston-Salem for the third annual Salute! The North Carolina Wine Celebration. With over 20 North Carolina wineries offering tastings and purchases of their harvests, this event was voted a "Top 20 Event in the Southeast" by the Southeast Tourism Society. Experience one of the newly proclaimed hot food items this year, North Carolina wine. Have a kilt and need a place to wear it? Head up to Historic Bethabara Park for the 8th Annual Celtic Festival & Highland Games for music, food, step dancing, border collie demonstrations, and of course, Highland athletics. But that's not all! Make sure to top it all off with a performance by the Sleeping Booty Band, sponsored by Foothills Brewery and Smitty's Notes in Downtown. Make it a "Weekend in Winston."
